Terry Vanlandingham Ringing Bells in First National Building, 1989

“‘Just happened to talk to Bill today (12-13-13).  Remembering the situation, Bill said it was just before Christmas in 1989.  He and his dad were going around saying goodbyes to people before he hit the road (to California).  The third person IS I.  Bill is opening his pocket wide for me to pour the contents of my pan.”  Terry Vanlandingham

William Howard, Sr., brought our beloved Terry Vanlandingham into the Kiwanis Club of Oklahoma City.  His son, Bill Jr., never became a club member! Who could have known what a great servant-leader Terry would become?

The older fellow is William Howard, Sr., and younger fellow is William Howard, Jr.  The elder Howard managed many major hotel properties in the Metro in the late 70's and early 80's.  His son, Bill Jr., worked the hotels and owned the "Gusher" Club at the NW Hilton as well as the Tennis Club snack shop area at Woodlake racquet club.  Bill Jr. later was a broker at Merrill Lynch and moved to Mountain ViewCalifornia and got into the banking business.  He is not a "burger buddie" with Bill Gates, but they walked the same ground!
